Role Description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Polymer Compounding R&D & Technical professional to support the development and setup of a new polymer compounding business. The person will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, developing formulations, conducting trials, product validation, and supporting the technical setup of the compounding plant.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop formulations for PP, PE, PA, PVC and other engineering polymers based on customer/application requirements.
* Work with fillers and reinforcements such as Talc, Calcium Carbonate, Glass Fiber, etc.
* Select and optimize additives including UV stabilizers, antioxidants, processing aids, impact modifiers, flame retardants, etc.
* Develop and optimize customer-specific and standard compound grades.
* Understand applications across automotive, electrical & electronics, appliances, furniture, industrial and consumer products.
* Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale trials using twin-screw extrusion.
* Establish processing parameters such as temperature profile, screw configuration, RPM, throughput, feeding ratios, etc.
* Conduct and interpret MFI, tensile, impact, flexural, density, ash/filler content, heat resistance and other relevant tests.
* Coordinate with customers for sample development, trials, technical feedback and product validation.
* Benchmark competing grades and understand market pricing and technical specifications.
* Identify suitable raw materials and suppliers and evaluate their technical suitability.
* Support selection of twin-screw extruder, auxiliary equipment, pelletizing system, feeding systems and QC equipment for the new plant.
* Develop SOPs, QC specifications and quality standards for commercial production.
* Support scale-up from lab → pilot → commercial production.
* Work closely with Sales/Business teams to convert customer requirements into commercially viable products.
* Evaluate costing, formulation economics, yield and product margins.
* Support plant commissioning, trial production and troubleshooting.

Candidate should have hands-on experience in:
* Polymer compounding
* Twin-screw extrusion
* Formulation development
* Masterbatch / filler / reinforced compounds
* Injection molding applications
* Automotive or engineering plastics
* Customer technical trials
* Scale-up from R&D to commercial production
