About the Role:
As a Product Design Engineer, you will play a key role in identifying and implementing component and assembly design changes that improve material cost, labour efficiency, product quality, and production performance.
You will be responsible for scoping, developing, analyzing, and evaluating production design-change projects while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Identify opportunities to optimize material cost, labor, and production efficiency through component and assembly design changes.
Lead the scoping, development, analysis, and evaluation of production design-change projects.
Coordinate pre-production activities and obtain required approvals for each project.
Analyze field-service data to identify root causes of quality issues and develop effective solutions.
Implement BOM changes, drawing modifications, new part drawings, and new model numbers for production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement design changes and achieve targeted cost reductions.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for new products and product modifications.
Obtain approvals for new parts and product changes in accordance with established procedures.
Identify and resolve production-line issues effectively.
Develop and maintain technical expertise within the product line and provide engineering support to other teams.
Travel may be required up to 25%.
Preferred Knowledge
Experience with pressure control, valve control, and fluid control is a plus.
Knowledge of the Food & Beverage industry is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of mechanical design, production processes, and engineering drawings.
Experience working with design changes, BOMs, manufacturing drawings, and product modifications.
