HVR Data Replication Specialist A Data Replicator / ETL Developer with Data Replication experience of replication Data from SAP to Snowflake. Overall experience 7 Years+. Below is the Job Description:
Hands-on Experience with HVR to retrieve Data from SAP HANA System that includes but not limited to:
Thorough understanding of the Calculation (Column) Views and CDS Views
Working knowledge of how HVR uses SQL to query the views.
Working knowledge and understanding of how HVR Refresh functionality can create required compatible target structures and perform Data load.
Hands-on Experience with HVR to retrieve Data from SAP ECC systems that includes but not limited to:
Thorough understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC) feature and how HVR integrates with SAP Dictionary to obtain up to date definitions for SAP tables, including any custom Z tables / columns
Thorough understanding of the SAP Transparent tables, Pool tables and Cluster tables
Working knowledge of Cluster tables and Pool Table Data as well as Long text.
Understanding of decompression and decoding at the downstream (away from the SAP Database) with no reliance on ABAPs and BAPIs
Working knowledge on how an initial load – or refresh – is performed and how HVR’s distributed architecture allows the load to spread and create an environment that is manageable with many sources and/or multiple targets, and which is scalable despite high volumes.
Thorough understanding of how Incremental log-based Change Data Capture allows for continuous integration, keeping the data in sync in real-time.
Understanding on how HVR also keeps track of transaction boundaries to replicate data in near-real-time, maintaining transactional consistency
Thorough understanding of how HVR’s distributed architecture and authentication of systems, including certificate-based authentication as a two-step verification mechanism and a standardized approach to encrypting data on the wire.
Understand how HVR supports Snowflake Integration that includes but not limited to:
Working knowledge of recreating a CDS view in Snowflake
Discovery of table definitions on the source
Automatic mapping of data types to compatible, loss-less data types
One-time load through efficient copy commands
Log-based CDC from several database technologies
Continuous data replication into cloud-based data warehouses
Data validation to ensure data in Snowflake matches the data in the source
Automatic alerting to enable the system to operate without constant monitoring
A Graphical User Interface (GUI) to configure data replication
Browser-based insights into data movement over time
Enterprise-grade security features to avoid data breaches
