Assistant Finance Manager

What You'll Do
o Implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the organization's financial objectives and ensure compliance with regulations.
o Assist in the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
o Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify areas of improvement, and provide recommendations to optimize the organization's financial resources.
o Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analysis to the management team and key stakeholders.
o Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the organization 's financial stability and growth.
o Implement effective internal controls to safeguard assets, manage risks, and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial transactions and records.
o Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
o Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and changes in financial regulations to ensure the organization's financial practices are in line with the latest standards.
Skills/Qualifications
o Minimum 3+ years’ experience in financial management
o Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification such as CA (Chartered Accountant) are desirable.
o Proven experience in financial management, accounting, or related roles.
o Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
o Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modelling.
o Excellent understanding of financial statements, financial ratios, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
o Experience in managing cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
o Proficiency in using financial software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
o Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
o Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
o Capacity to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
o Attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity in financial reporting and record-keeping.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
o Experience in legal / financial services / insurance industry is preferred.
