Facilities Manager

Role Description The Facilities Manager (part-time, remote) is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of company facilities and related assets, coordinating activities primarily via digital tools and remote collaboration. Day-to-day tasks include planning and tracking maintenance schedules, managing service providers, monitoring facility-related budgets, and ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards. The role involves developing and updating facility policies, maintaining accurate records of inspections and repairs, and supporting energy efficiency initiatives aligned with Solar Tower’s renewable mission. The Facilities Manager will collaborate with operations, engineering, and leadership to prioritize facility improvements, address issues promptly, and support team members in their use of office and technical spaces.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in facilities management, property management, or operations oversight, preferably within technical, engineering, or energy-focused environments.
Strong skills in maintenance planning, vendor coordination, and budget tracking for facility-related services and supplies.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with the ability to implement and monitor compliance procedures remotely.
Proficiency with digital tools for remote work, such as facility management software, spreadsheets, collaboration platforms, and document management systems.
Ability to analyze facility performance metrics, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a part-time schedule.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external service providers.
Relevant education in facilities management, engineering, business administration, or a related field; professional certifications in facilities or safety management are an advantage.
Interest in renewable energy and sustainability, with willingness to support Solar Tower’s mission through facility-related energy efficiency initiatives.
