BEFORE YOU APPLY
This is not a quick-apply position. It is a high-impact role that requires a licensed Physical Therapist, and every application requires a resume, a cover letter that answers two questions, and a work sample. Please read the How to Apply section in full before applying.
ABOUT HEALTH & REHAB SOLUTIONS
Health & Rehab Solutions (HRS) is a group of therapist-owned, therapist-led physical therapy companies. Today, 17 Partner practices operate more than 40 clinic locations across six states.
We're not an investor, and we're not a franchisor. We build the referral systems, financial infrastructure, clinical quality programs and technology that help our Partners grow, so they can stay focused on what they do best: taking care of patients.
The Strategic Business Team (SBT) is at the center of that. We work alongside our Partners to solve real business problems, build better systems and drive measurable performance through a hands-on approach built on partnership, accountability and results.
HRS is Built Different by Design.
THE ROLE
The Clinical Operations Leader works directly with the owners and leadership of HRS Partner practices to help them grow, improve performance and build stronger businesses.
This is not a traditional strategy or consulting role. We're not looking for someone who identifies problems, builds a presentation and hands over a recommendation. We need someone who can find the opportunity, understand what's really driving it, build a solution, get it implemented through other people, measure the result and turn what works into something other practices can use.
The role spans operations, growth, clinical performance, data, technology and leadership, and your priorities will shift toward wherever you can create the greatest impact. The guiding question is always the same: what do our companies need to grow, scale and perform better, and how do we deliver it?
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Business & Operational Performance
Partner with Practice Owners and clinic leadership to drive execution of each organization's strategic plan.
Share ownership of P&L outcomes with Partner leadership and help build profitable, sustainable businesses.
Develop systems and workflows that improve how clinics operate.
Identify what is getting in the way of performance and address the root cause, not just the symptom.
Growth & Referral Development
Build, execute, measure and continuously improve referral-development strategies with Partner practices.
Help leaders and clinicians build stronger relationships with physicians, past patients and their communities.
Teach clinicians and leaders how to communicate the value of their services and develop referral relationships.
Build repeatable growth systems rather than relying on individual relationships or one-off marketing activities.
Track results and adjust strategies based on what is actually producing patient volume.
Clinical & Front-Desk Performance
Identify data and behaviors that indicate clinician or clinic underperformance and work with leaders to address them.
Help clinicians prescribe and communicate plans of care more effectively, improving adherence, completion of care, cancellation rates, outcomes and patient experience.
Support clinical-quality programs that improve patient outcomes while strengthening clinician performance, retention and profitability.
Design standardized, scalable front-desk processes that improve referral conversion, scheduling, arrival rates, cancellations, retention and collections.
Coach and develop administrative leaders so they can improve the performance of their teams.
Use workforce data to identify therapists at risk of attrition and partner with leadership on proactive retention strategies.
Data, Technology & Performance Strategy
Analyze clinical, operational, growth and financial data to identify trends, risks and leading indicators.
Move beyond what is happening to determine why it is happening.
Turn data into clear priorities and practical strategies leaders can execute.
Establish measurable expectations and verify whether a strategy is producing the intended result.
Become a go-to resource for HRS's EMR platform and improve utilization, efficiency, automation and workflow.
Work alongside HRS subject-matter experts to design and implement technology-enabled improvements.
Leadership & Strategic Execution
Build credibility quickly with Partner Owners and experienced leaders.
Influence people who do not report to you and create alignment around the changes that need to happen.
Develop leaders and clinicians, and help leaders improve the teams beneath them.
Know when to educate, coach, challenge, support and hold leaders accountable.
Navigate difficult performance conversations with professionalism and directness.
Build solutions that can be taught, measured, documented and implemented across multiple practices.
Operate as an implementer, not just a strategist, and measure your success by results, not activity.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR
Trusted working relationships with Partner Owners and leadership teams.
Recognized as a go-to resource for HRS's EMR platform, with workflow improvements implemented that make clinics more efficient.
Meaningful operational, growth, clinical or administrative opportunities diagnosed and solutions implemented that produced measurable improvement.
Referral-development systems built or improved that contributed to measurable patient-volume growth.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
An experienced outpatient healthcare operator who understands how the parts of a successful PT organization work together and has a track record of improving them. You:
Have operated or led a multi-site outpatient healthcare organization.
Understand the operational drivers of a high-performing PT organization.
Have had meaningful P&L responsibility and a record of profitable business performance.
Have generated sustainable referral growth through physicians, past patients, community outreach or similar channels.
Have deep expertise in clinical quality and exceptional patient care.
Can turn clinical, operational, financial and growth data into a clear course of action.
Have improved front-desk and administrative workflows in outpatient healthcare firsthand.
Have built systems, playbooks or products implemented successfully across multiple locations or teams.
Are comfortable influencing experienced leaders without formal authority.
Move between strategy and execution without losing sight of either.
Preferred Experience
Physical therapy or outpatient rehabilitation background.
Experience in a therapist-owned, physician-owned, partnership or affiliate-style healthcare organization.
Experience with outpatient rehabilitation EMR platforms.
Consulting, coaching or training experience with healthcare leadership teams.
CAREER GROWTH
As you consistently drive results, build solutions that work across multiple practices and develop leaders, there is an opportunity to progress into a Strategic Operations Leader role with responsibility for leading the SBT.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation depends on experience, with performance- and growth-based bonus opportunities.
401(k) with employer match
Medical, dental and vision insurance
HSA (Health Savings Account)
Supplemental life insurance
Short-term disability insurance
Generous paid time off
HOW TO APPLY
We ask for more than a resume because we want to see how you think and what you've built. Please submit the following as PDFs:
Resume. Focus on measurable results you drove, not the responsibilities you were given.
Cover Letter. Tell us why this role and why HRS, and answer the two Cover Letter Questions below.
Work Sample. One case study (1 to 2 pages) of a system, program or workflow you built and implemented. Cover the problem, what you built, how you rolled it out and the result. A second example is welcome but not required. Redacted or recreated materials are fine. Remove all patient and confidential information.
Cover Letter Questions (300 to 600 words each)
