The Head of Human Resources, Greater China is responsible for leading the overall people strategy across China, and Taiwan (as applicable), ensuring alignment with business objectives while fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.
This role acts as a strategic advisor to the Greater China leadership team and is accountable for all aspects of human resources, including talent management, organizational development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, workforce planning, leadership development, diversity & inclusion, and HR compliance. The incumbent will drive business growth through effective people strategies and build organizational capability to support both current and future business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
Develop and execute the Greater China HR strategy aligned with regional and global business objectives.
Partner closely with senior business leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, business transformation, and workforce planning.
Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to the Greater China Leadership Team.
Lead organizational design and restructuring initiatives to support business growth and efficiency.
Talent Management & Succession Planning
Drive talent identification, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
Build robust talent pipelines for critical positions.
Design and execute strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
Foster a high-performance culture through effective performance management processes.
Employee Engagement & Culture
Champion employee engagement initiatives and monitor organizational health through surveys and action planning.
Promote company values, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives.
Lead change management efforts during business transformations.
Strengthen employer branding and employee value proposition across Greater China.
HR Operations & Compliance
Ensure compliance with local labor laws, employment regulations, and company policies across all Greater China locations.
Oversee employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and dispute resolution.
Monitor HR governance, policies, and risk management practices.
Ensure efficient delivery of HR services and continuous improvement of HR processes.
Compensation & Benefits
Partner with regional and global compensation teams on compensation strategy and annual reward cycles.
Ensure competitive and compliant compensation and benefits programs.
Lead salary review, incentive planning, and workforce cost management activities.
Talent Acquisition
Oversee recruitment strategies to support current and future business requirements.
Partner with business leaders to anticipate workforce needs.
Drive workforce planning and talent acquisition effectiveness.
HR Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team across Greater China.
Build strong HR capabilities and succession within the HR function.
Foster a collaborative and customer-focused HR organization.
HR Analytics & Reporting
Utilize workforce analytics and insights to support business decision-making.
Track key HR metrics including turnover, engagement, diversity, succession readiness, and organizational effectiveness.
Present workforce trends and recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
Master's degree or MBA preferred.
Experience
15+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
Proven experience leading HR for a large business unit, country, or regional organization within Greater China.
Strong experience partnering with senior executives and leading organizational transformation initiatives.
Experience in multinational, matrixed environments preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in talent management, employee relations, organizational development, and labor law compliance.
Knowledge & Skills
Deep understanding of China labor laws and employment regulations; knowledge of Hong Kong and Taiwan employment practices is advantageous.
Strong business acumen and ability to translate business strategy into people initiatives.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience leading change and transformation programs.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Mandarin.
