Business Data Analyst (BDA) – PLX, Looker & Gemini
Employment: Full Time
Location: Remote US
We are looking for a strong Business Data Analyst (BDA) who can transform complex operational and business data into actionable strategic insights. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in PLX, Looker, SQL, and Gemini/Generative AI, and will be comfortable presenting insights and recommendations to business and leadership stakeholders.
The role requires someone who can move beyond reporting—identifying trends, uncovering root causes, connecting data across multiple dimensions, and translating analysis into clear recommendations that support business decisions.
Qualifications for success:
Experience with PLX and Looker.
SQL skills and experience analyzing large datasets.
Experience with Gemini / Generative AI and applying AI within analytics or business-intelligence use cases.
Data visualization, dashboard design, KPI development, and analytical storytelling.
Ability to convert ambiguous business problems into structured analytical approaches.
Experience deriving actionable and strategic insights from data.
Ability to problem-solving, critical-thinking, and root-cause-analysis skills.
Experience presenting analytical findings to senior stakeholders.
Ability to independently manage multiple analytical requests and work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Google data and analytics ecosystems.
Exposure to BigQuery, Python, GCP, or similar analytical technologies.
Experience developing AI-assisted analytics or automated insight-generation solutions.
Familiarity with operational analytics, product analytics, customer analytics, quality analytics, or business-performance measurement.
Experience working in a fast-paced, large-scale technology environment.
Responsibilities:
Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, risks, and business opportunities.
Develop and maintain PLX and Looker dashboards, scorecards, and executive-level reporting.
Translate business questions into analytical frameworks, KPIs, metrics, and measurable outcomes.
Generate strategic insights and recommendations, rather than simply reporting metrics.
Perform deep-dive, trend, cohort, segmentation, variance, and root-cause analyses.
Use Gemini and GenAI capabilities to accelerate analysis, summarize findings, discover patterns, and develop insight-generation workflows.
Explore opportunities to integrate Gemini into analytics workflows for automated insights, natural-language querying, summarization, and decision support.
Partner with business, operations, product, engineering, and leadership teams to understand business challenges and convert them into data-driven solutions.
Develop executive-ready narratives that clearly communicate what happened, why it happened, business impact, and recommended actions.
Establish and monitor KPIs, thresholds, trends, and early-warning indicators.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of reporting through appropriate data validation and quality checks.
Support ad-hoc strategic analysis and leadership requests with fast, data-backed recommendations.
