Logistics Lead

Purpose :
The role holder will oversee logistics operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and efficient distribution of materials and products. Reporting to the Planning & Logistics Head, the role focuses on development and implementation of global supply chain strategies, transportation management, warehouse operations, vendor coordination, and regulatory compliance. The position supports operational efficiency by improving logistics workflows, optimizing resources, adopting advanced technologies while complying with all appropriate Government and EXIM regulations. The role will also be responsible for logistics strategy, commercial governance, digital transformation through Transportation Management Systems (TMS), logistics network optimization, risk management, and ensuring alignment of logistics operations with business growth objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities :
Lead end-to-end logistics operations across inbound, outbound, transportation and warehousing.
Design and optimize logistics networks, routes and distribution models for scalability and efficiency.
Drive OTIF, OTD, service levels and logistics productivity through robust KPI governance.
Own freight budgets, cost optimization, productivity and annual logistics savings initiatives.
Lead TMS implementation, digital transformation, automation and real-time shipment visibility.
Manage strategic partnerships with transporters, freight forwarders, CHAs and logistics service providers.
Ensure compliance with EXIM, customs, trade, safety and transportation regulations.
Strengthen logistics risk management, business continuity and supply-chain resilience.
Drive cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, Finance and Customer Service.
Build and develop high-performing logistics teams through capability building, succession planning and continuous improvement.
Education Qualification & Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced degree (e.g., MBA in Operations or Master's in Engineering)
Certifications such as CSCP, CPSM are desirable.
10-12 years of experience in Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, with 5+ years in leadership roles.
Proven expertise in logistics and leveraging technology for process improvement.
Strong leadership track record with experience in managing diverse, cross-functional teams.
