Job Title: HR Specialist, India
Reports to: Senior Director, People & Culture, India
Purpose: The HR Specialist serves as a key operational and strategic partner across core HR functions in India. This role is responsible for driving recruitment, managing foundational personnel processes, leading onboarding and compliance initiatives, and providing high-touch employee support. Operating with autonomy and strategic alignment, the HR Specialist ensures data integrity, optimizes operational workflows, and delivers expert HR guidance to support organizational growth and employee engagement.
Netspend is seeking a results-driven and proactive HR Specialist to manage end-to-end Recruitment and HR operations. In this role, you will lead key HR initiatives including hiring, employee lifecycle management, payroll oversight, compliance governance, benefits administration, HRIS data stewardship, and Tier-1 employee support. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence and confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruitment Support: Partner with talent acquisition stakeholders to facilitate end-to-end recruitment life cycles, including candidate pipeline coordination, interview orchestration, and offer management.
- Onboarding Administration: Drive seamless employee onboarding experiences by overseeing pre-boarding protocols, background verification governance, HRIS profile provisioning, and comprehensive orientation delivery.
- Offboarding Coordination: Manage structured separation workflows, including retention insights, exit analytics, transition ticketing, and full-and-final settlement execution.
- Payroll & Financial Operations: Support monthly India payroll operations by compiling additional input data, validating salary registers and reports, maintaining NPS and flexi benefit records, and coordinating with external payroll vendors.
- Absence Management & Workforce Analytics: Oversee leave administration and accrual tracking, partner with people leaders to streamline time-off approvals, and analyze work-from-office (WFO) trends to deliver actionable workforce productivity insights via executive dashboards.
- Compliance & Governance: Coordinate POSH training sessions for new hires and annual exercises with vendors, assist with Shop & Establishment filings, POSH return compliance, and labor contract renewals.
- Employee Relations & Query Management: Provide expert tier-1 advisory and governance across employee queries and ticketing ecosystems to foster high employee engagement.
- Medical Insurance Administration: Process routine additions, deletions, and dependent updates for group insurance policies (GMC, GPA, GTL) and assist with annual policy renewal evaluations and vendor coordination.
- Investment Declaration & Proof Window Exercise: Administer annual investment and flexi benefit declaration cycles, coordinate and test proof-submission windows, and handle mid-year declarations for new joiners or role changes.
- Executive Dashboards & Reporting: Curate high-level HR reporting materials and leadership dashboards to support organizational decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is preferred).
- Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in HR operations, HR administration, or related core HR functions.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HRIS platforms and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with a demonstrated aptitude for leveraging HR technology.
- Core Knowledge: Strong understanding of core HR processes, operational compliance, and industry best practices.
- Key Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills, with proven success operating in fast-paced environments while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Competencies:
- High ownership and a proactive approach to driving tasks and responsibilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong emphasis on adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to work independently and manage key HR processes under general direction.
- Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with cross-functional teams, employees, and leadership.
- Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive employee data and driving operational excellence across core HR functions.
