Job Description
Bristlecone India Limited is seeking an experienced Lead SAP ABAP Consultant to join our S/4 HANA Technical – Delivery team. The role involves end‑to‑end ownership of ABAP development, enhancement, integration, and support activities, ensuring high‑quality solutions that meet business requirements and align with our S/4HANA roadmap.
Responsibilities
Lead design, development, and enhancement of ABAP objects in the S/4HANA environment.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and robust code.
Perform code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers.
Integrate SAP modules with external systems using IDocs, BAPIs, OData, and APIs.
Optimize performance and troubleshoot issues in existing ABAP programs.
Support functional teams during testing, UAT, and production rollout.
Ensure compliance with SAP S/4HANA migration guidelines and upgrade strategies.
Collaborate with architecture and delivery leads to define technical roadmaps.
Manage documentation, version control, and change management processes.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation in SAP development practices.
Qualifications
8+ years of hands‑on SAP ABAP development experience.
Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA (ECC to S/4 conversion, new development).
Proficiency in ABAP OO, BAPIs, BADIs, Enhancements, ALV, and OData services.
Experience with SAP integration technologies (IDoc, ALE, RFC, SOAP/REST).
Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5 is a plus.
Demonstrated leadership or team‑lead experience.
Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
SAP certification (ABAP, S/4HANA) preferred.
