Role Description The Chief Tax Officer is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing all tax-related activities for White Wine And Food. This role involves leading tax strategy, managing tax compliance across relevant jurisdictions, and ensuring accurate tax preparation and filings. The Chief Tax Officer will monitor changes in tax law, advise leadership on tax implications of business decisions, and develop policies that optimize tax efficiency while maintaining regulatory compliance. Daily tasks include coordinating with finance teams, reviewing tax reports and documentation, managing relationships with external tax advisors, and supporting audits or regulatory reviews. The individual will also contribute to financial planning by providing insights on tax risk, controls, and long-term tax planning.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Tax, Tax Compliance, and Tax Preparation, with a track record of managing complex tax environments.
In-depth knowledge of Tax Law and related regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply changes to company policies.
Solid Finance skills, including experience collaborating with finance teams on reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, Chartered Tax Adviser) and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
Experience in a senior tax leadership role, preferably within consumer goods, retail, or hospitality sectors.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience with international or cross-border tax issues is an advantage.
