Data Solution Architect

Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Data Solution Architect to lead the design, build, and scaling of our modern data platform and data products. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution. You will design robust, secure, and high-performance data products leveraging Microsoft Azure, Databricks (Lakehouse/Unity Catalog), and Snowflake. You will collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, product managers, and executive stakeholders to drive our data-driven transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture and Design: Design end-to-end, scalable data architectures and reusable data products using Azure cloud services, Azure Databricks, and Snowflake Data Cloud.
- Data Product Lifecycle: Own the technical roadmap for data products from conception, design, and proof-of-concept (PoC) to production deployment and consumption.
- Ecosystem Integration: Integrate Databricks and Snowflake seamlessly within the Azure ecosystem.
- Data Governance and Security: Implement enterprise-grade security, data privacy, and governance frameworks (utilizing Databricks Unity Catalog and Snowflake governance features).
- Performance and Cost Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines, cluster sizing, and query performance across both Databricks and Snowflake to ensure cost-efficiency.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Mentor engineering teams, define technical standards, conduct design reviews, and translate complex business requirements into clear architectural blueprints.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: 15+ years in IT/Data with at least 5+ years focused on enterprise data architecture, cloud analytics, and distributed data systems.
- Cloud Expertise (Azure): Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services, storage accounts (ADLS Gen2), networking, and security/IAM models.
- Databricks Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
- Snowflake Proficiency: Proven expertise in Snowflake data warehousing, multi-cluster warehouses, data sharing, Snowpipe, and performance tuning.
- Core Languages and Tools: Fluency in Python, SQL, Snowflake DBT along with CI/CD pipeline management (Git, Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).
