Role: Junior Software Engineer
Role Type: Full-time
Experience: 1–2 years
Compensation: $400 USD base salary per month, plus up to $200 USD in performance-based bonuses per month.
About the Role
SmartPropFirm is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our Product & Engineering team.
You’ll help build and improve software for the prop trading industry, including trading tools, dashboards, rewards systems, marketplaces, and platform features.
We’re looking for someone with strong programming fundamentals who learns quickly, solves problems effectively, and is comfortable using modern development and AI tools.
Responsibilities
Build and improve features across our web platform.
Write clean, maintainable, and reliable code.
Work across frontend and backend based on project needs.
Integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services.
Fix bugs, improve performance, and test your work.
Use AI tools effectively for development, research, and debugging.
Collaborate with the team and take ownership of assigned tasks.
Requirements
1–2 years of software development experience.
Strong programming fundamentals.
Good knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and authentication.
Comfortable with Git, code reviews, and existing codebases.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience with AI development tools such as ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot.
Nice to Have
Experience with Next.js, Node.js, WordPress, REST APIs, or SaaS platforms.
Familiarity with responsive UI/UX and production debugging.
Experience or interest in fintech, trading, dashboards, marketplaces, or rewards systems.
