Back-end Developer

Nummo is hiring a Backend Engineer to build and maintain the backend services behind the recruiting workflow. This search is used to exercise the hiring process from sourcing through screening.
You will design and implement services in Java, work with relational data, and ship changes that recruiters rely on. The work covers candidate and role records, integrations with external hiring systems, and the jobs that keep those records in sync. You will review code, write tests, and debug issues with the rest of the engineering team.
We are looking for someone who has shipped production Java services, is comfortable with SQL, and can explain a design before writing it. Experience with HTTP APIs, background workers, and cloud deployment is useful. You should be able to take a workflow problem, turn it into a small implementation, and follow it through review.
The role is remote, with the team based around New York. You will work closely with the people who run searches, so the software has to match how a recruiter moves a candidate forward. Clear writing and careful handling of personal data matter as much as the code.
