Sr QA Engineer (Playwright-Karate)
Location: Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay
Overview
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer who is passionate about software quality across functional and automated testing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Karate, Playwright, backend API testing, and UI testing, with a focus on delivering reliable end-to-end quality.
Responsibilities
Design and execute functional test strategies for web applications and backend services.
Build and maintain backend API test automation using Java and Karate.
Create reliable UI automation suites using Playwright.
Perform exploratory, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify risks and test coverage gaps.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and analyze failures.
Document defects clearly, including evidence, severity, business impact, and reproduction steps.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and distributed delivery teams.
Track quality metrics and communicate release readiness to stakeholders.
Mentor teammates on automation practices and sustainable test design.
Qualifications
Senior-level experience delivering functional and automated software testing.
Hands-on Java experience for test automation.
Hands-on backend API automation with Karate.
Strong functional UI testing and Playwright automation experience.
Experience with API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD workflows, and defect tracking tools.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and risk-based testing skills.
Advanced English for client-facing and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred: Experience with Selenium, REST Assured, Cucumber, or Appium.
Preferred: Familiarity with Docker, cloud test environments, performance testing, and accessibility testing
