Accounting Manager

Our client a growing, Canadian public accounting firm that is looking to hire an experienced Accounting Manager.
This is a fully remote opportunity anywhere in Canada and is well suited to an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys working with owner-managed businesses, managing client relationships, leading staff, and handling both accounting and tax engagements.
The Opportunity
As Accounting & Tax Manager, you will oversee private-company accounting and tax engagements, manage client relationships, coach team members, and work directly with Partners on tax research, corporate reorganizations, and consulting matters.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and review personal and corporate income tax returns
• Review T1 and T2 tax work
• Review compilation / Notice to Reader financial statements
• Oversee routine tax filings
• Manage client relationships and serve as a key point of contact for accounting and tax matters
• Manage workflow across accounting and tax teams
• Provide daily guidance, coaching, and development to staff
• Work directly with Partners on tax research
• Assist with corporate reorganizations and ad-hoc consulting engagements
• Identify, investigate, and resolve engagement issues
• Ensure engagements meet quality standards and deadlines
What We’re Looking For
• 6+ years of private-company public accounting experience
• Strong corporate and personal taxation knowledge, including T1 and T2
• Experience reviewing compilation / Notice to Reader engagements
• Strong experience working with **owner-managed businesses
• Current or previous experience managing staff, workflow, deadlines, and client relationships
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Comfortable learning and using new accounting technologies and processes

Compensation & Work Arrangement
$90,000–$130,000 per year
100% Fully Remote – Canada
Full-Time, Permanent
The position is particularly suited to someone already operating at the Manager level in public practice who wants the flexibility of a fully remote environment while continuing to work closely with Partners and private-company clients.
