Video Editor – Full Time
We’re looking for a creative and fast-paced Social Media Video Editor who understands Reels, trends and what makes content engaging on social media.
You’ll be editing content for brands across hospitality, FMCG, fashion, lifestyle and other industries, working closely with our content creators, strategists and designers.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Edit Instagram Reels, short-form videos and other social media content
• Turn raw shoot footage into engaging, fast-paced and visually strong content
• Work with different editing styles depending on the brand, from clean and premium to fun, trendy, aesthetic and high-energy
• Add transitions, text, subtitles, graphics, sound effects, music and other elements wherever required
• Create strong hooks within the first few seconds of a Reel
• Work with trending audios and understand how to use trends without making every brand look the same
• Work closely with content creators and strategists to understand the idea and direction behind each Reel
• Collaborate with designers when videos require graphic elements, typography or brand assets
• Edit founder-led content, product videos, food content, fashion and lifestyle Reels, UGC-style videos, event content and trend-led videos
• Understand pacing, storytelling and retention for short-form content
• Repurpose longer footage into shorter social media edits wherever required
• Make revisions based on internal and client feedback
• Manage multiple edits across different brands while sticking to timelines
• Keep up with new Reel formats, editing styles, transitions and social media trends
Software & Skills
Strong working knowledge of:
• Adobe After Effects
• Adobe Premiere Pro
• CapCut
• Other relevant video editing tools
You should also have a good understanding of:
• Motion graphics
• Typography and text animation
• Transitions
• Colour correction and basic colour grading
• Audio editing and sound design
• Subtitles and captions
• Reel formats and aspect ratios
• Export settings for Instagram and other social platforms
What We’re Looking For
Someone who:
• Has a strong understanding of Instagram Reels and short-form social content
• Has a good visual and aesthetic sense
• Can take raw footage and make it interesting without needing step-by-step instructions
• Understands that editing for social media is different from traditional video editing
• Can work across multiple brand aesthetics and industries
• Is quick with edits without compromising on quality
• Can take feedback and turn around revisions efficiently
• Keeps up with trends and actively follows what is happening in the content and editing space
• Can work closely with strategists, content creators and designers as part of a creative team
Experience
Prior experience as a Video Editor, Reel Editor or Social Media Video Editor is preferred.
A strong portfolio is extremely important. Applicants should share 5–10 Reels or short-form videos they have personally edited, ideally showcasing different editing styles.
Experience working with an agency or handling multiple brands at the same time is an added advantage.
