Senior Data Engineer

-Must be fluent in English (mandatory), Russian, Spanish or French
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
-Full-time role ( 8 hours per day )
-Must be able to lead a team of 15 data engineers
-Familiarity with time tracking software (Hubstaff)
- Experience: minimum 3 years (mandatory)
Preferred: 4–5+ years of relevant professional experience in database/data engineering.
- Specialities :
Strong working knowledge of SQL.
Working knowledge of Python, particularly for developing data-processing and troubleshooting/fixing scripts.
Experience with data engineering, including data extraction, transformation, validation, cleaning, and database loading.
Experience working with APIs and web-based data sources.
Ability to independently troubleshoot data and database problems.
- Required Tools & Technologies
1. SQL — querying, joins, aggregation, optimization, data validation, etc.
2. Python — scripts for data processing, automation, troubleshooting, and fixing data issues.
3. Overpass Turbo / OpenStreetMap API — querying and extracting geographic/business data.
4. ChatGPT Pro — using AI for coding assistance, debugging, data analysis, documentation, and productivity.
5. Claude Pro — using AI for coding, debugging, data processing, and technical problem solving
Additional responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain company's databases and data pipelines.
Troubleshoot data-quality issues.
Create Python scripts to correct or transform datasets.
Write and optimize SQL queries.
Extract business/location data through APIs and other approved data sources.
Assist with importing large CSV/data files into SQL databases.
Validate, clean, deduplicate, and normalize business records.
Work with the Data Engineer/Data Scientist team to resolve data problems.
Document scripts, queries, procedures, and fixes.
Supervise 5+ junior data personnel when assigned.
