HR Generalist

About The Role
The HR Generalist owns the day-to-day people operations that keep a fast-growing technology company running: onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and HRIS management.
This role matters because headcount growth creates real operational complexity. The HR Generalist is the person who makes sure policies scale, records stay accurate, and employees get fast, fair answers — working closely with the People team, recruiting, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Own core HR operations end-to-end: onboarding, offboarding, new-hire paperwork, and benefits enrollment
Administer and maintain the HRIS (Rippling, BambooHR, Workday, or similar), ensuring data accuracy and process automation
Serve as first point of contact for employee relations issues; investigate, document, and escalate appropriately
Support performance review cycles, compensation planning, and internal promotions alongside the People team
Ensure compliance with federal, NY state, and NYC employment regulations, including leave administration and required postings
Run HR reporting and people metrics: headcount, attrition, time-to-productivity, and engagement data
Build and improve internal people programs — benefits education, manager enablement, and policy documentation
What We Are Looking For
3-6 years of HR generalist experience, ideally in a high-growth technology environment
Hands-on experience administering an HRIS (Workday, Rippling, BambooHR, or similar)
Working knowledge of employment law and multi-state compliance, with NY experience preferred
Experience running employee relations investigations with sound judgment and discretion
Strong data and reporting skills; comfortable in Google Sheets or Excel and building HR dashboards
Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
Bonus: SHRM-CP or PHR certification; experience supporting international contractors (Deel, Remote, or similar)
