Role Description The Vice President of Projects is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the planning, execution, and oversight of mining-related projects and strategic initiatives. This role will define project portfolios, set priorities, and ensure alignment with the company’s business objectives and editorial strategy. The Vice President of Projects will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines and budgets, and monitor risks and compliance with industry standards. Day-to-day activities include reviewing project proposals, developing implementation plans, guiding stakeholders, and preparing regular performance and progress reports for senior leadership. The role also involves building relationships with industry partners, identifying new opportunities, and continuously improving project management practices.
Qualifications
Strong project and program management skills, including planning, execution, budgeting, and risk management.
Experience in the mining, energy, or industrial sectors, with a solid understanding of industry dynamics and regulatory frameworks.
Strategic thinking and business development capabilities to identify, evaluate, and prioritize new projects and opportunities.
Leadership and people management skills, including the ability to guide remote teams, delegate effectively, and foster collaboration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, stakeholder engagement, and coordination with internal and external partners.
Proficiency with digital tools for remote work and project management (e.g., collaboration platforms, project tracking software).
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field; advanced degree or specialized certifications (e.g., PMP) are an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, make data-informed decisions, and adapt to changing priorities.
