About PHIX
PHIX is an independent British menswear brand headquartered in Manchester, with an office in Madrid and customers across the UK, Europe, the US and beyond. Our identity is rooted in music, vintage design and the style of the 1960s and 1970s, reinterpreted for a modern wardrobe. From statement shirts and leather jackets to sharp tailoring and textured knitwear, we create clothing with character, distinctive silhouettes and considered detail. Alongside our main collections, we’ve developed official collaborations with some of music’s most iconic names, including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
Photography is central to how we communicate the brand. We want our imagery to capture the attitude, atmosphere and individuality behind the clothes, with as much consideration given to the location, lighting and styling as to the garments themselves.
The opportunity
We’re looking for a photography intern based in Madrid to work alongside our team based in Madrid to to help bring that vision to life through fashion imagery and creative content. This is a full-time, paid opportunity for an emerging photographer who wants to develop their skills and gain practical experience within an international fashion brand.
What you’ll be doing
• Researching locations, developing mood boards and gathering visual references.
• Preparing clothing, equipment and lighting for shoots.
• Assisting on fashion shoots, with opportunities to contribute your own photography.
• Capturing behind-the-scenes moments, garment details and social content.
• Selecting, editing and retouching images in line with PHIX’s visual identity.
• Organising assets and preparing imagery for our website and social channels.
• Bringing fresh ideas for how we photograph and present our collections.
What we’re looking for
• A strong visual eye and an interest in fashion, music and photography.
• A portfolio that demonstrates composition and creativity. Personal projects and student work are welcome.
• Basic knowledge of camera settings and lighting.
• Some experience with Lightroom and/or Photoshop.
• An organised, reliable approach and attention to detail.
• Confidence sharing ideas, openness to feedback and a willingness to get involved.
• Availability to work full-time and attend shoots in Madrid.
An interest in short-form video would also be welcome.
