Job Title: Lab Instructor – Civil Engineering
Department: School of Civil Engineering
Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
M.Tech in Civil Engineering preferred for Lab Instructor positions.
Experience
1–5 years of relevant experience in Civil Engineering laboratories, testing, construction, or academic institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Assist faculty in conducting laboratory practicals and demonstrations.
Prepare laboratory equipment, materials, and instruments for experiments.
Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, stock registers, and records.
Ensure laboratory safety, cleanliness, and compliance with institutional guidelines.
Support student projects, research activities, and practical examinations.
Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, and procurement requirements.
Maintain documentation required for NBA, NAAC, AICTE, and departmental audits.
Desired Skills
Knowledge of Civil Engineering laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil Engineering software.
Good communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and technical staff.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of Civil Engineering laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
Familiarity with IS Codes and standard testing methods.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, ETABS, Revit, GIS, or equivalent software (desirable).
Ability to maintain laboratory documentation and records.
Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills for laboratory equipment.
