Architect Design and Planning

Role Purpose
The Architect will support the Infrastructure and Expansion team in planning and developing hospitals, day care centres, clinics and other company facilities. The role requires a practical person who can take site inputs, prepare layouts and working drawings, develop 3D views, prepare BOQs and coordinate with vendors and site teams until the design is correctly understood for execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare architectural layouts and space plans for hospitals, clinics, day care centres and office facilities.
2. Prepare AutoCAD drawings, working drawings, detailed drawings and as built drawings.
3. Develop 3D views and presentation drawings for management review and execution clarity.
4. Prepare BOQs, quantity take offs and basic cost estimates based on approved drawings and site requirements.
5. Plan OPD rooms, IPD rooms, wards, Panchakarma rooms, reception, waiting areas, pharmacy, kitchen, cafeteria, stores, staff areas and other functional spaces.
6. Coordinate architectural drawings with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire fighting, CCTV, networking and other MEP requirements.
7. Visit properties and project sites for measurements, feasibility checks and design coordination.
8. Review contractor and vendor drawings, BOQs and technical quotations and point out mismatches before execution.
9. Support material selection and value engineering without compromising functionality or quality.
10. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors and internal teams for drawing and execution related requirements.
11. Maintain drawing revisions and project wise records in an organised manner.
12. Support site teams during execution and help resolve drawing or design related issues within agreed timelines.
Required Skills
1. Good architectural planning and space planning skills.
2. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
3. Working knowledge of SketchUp or another suitable 3D modelling software.
4. Ability to prepare BOQs and quantity estimates in MS Excel.
5. Understanding of interior detailing, materials and execution drawings.
6. Basic understanding of MEP coordination and site execution.
7. Ability to take accurate site measurements and convert them into workable drawings.
8. Good coordination and communication skills with vendors and project teams.
9. Willingness to travel to project locations when required.
Software Knowledge
1. AutoCAD Mandatory
2. MS Excel Mandatory
3. SketchUp or equivalent 3D modelling software Mandatory
4. Revit Preferred
5. Lumion, Enscape, V Ray or similar rendering software Preferred
6. Adobe Photoshop and MS PowerPoint Working knowledge preferred
Preferred Profile
1. 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in architecture, interiors, healthcare, commercial projects or multi location projects.
2. Healthcare or hospital planning exposure will be preferred but is not compulsory if the candidate is strong in planning and execution drawings.
3. The candidate should be hands on and should be comfortable preparing drawings, 3D views and BOQs independently.
4. A practical approach to design, cost, timelines and execution is important for this position.
Selection Process
