Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly technical Lead Developer to spearhead our Windows desktop application development team. In this onsite role based in Hyderabad, you will be responsible for the end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of robust Windows-based software. Leveraging your 8 to 9 years of expertise in C++, VC++, and MFC, you will balance hands-on coding with team leadership, guiding developers to build scalable, high-performance applications while ensuring architectural integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & System Design
System Architecture: Define, build, and evolve the architectural blueprint for complex Windows desktop applications, ensuring long-term scalability, security, and maintainability.
Technical Strategy: Evaluate product requirements and translate them into robust Object-Oriented Designs (OOD), technical specifications, and development roadmaps.
Performance Optimization: Analyze existing legacy architectures to identify bottlenecks, driving system-level optimizations, advanced memory management, and multithreading strategies.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
Technical Leadership: Lead and manage a dedicated team of C++ developers, setting clear engineering standards and driving daily technical execution.
Code Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous code reviews, enforce coding best practices, and ensure the delivery of reliable, zero-defect code.
Mentorship: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, rigorous problem-solving, and technical excellence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product owners, QA teams, and stakeholders to align technical deliverables with business objectives and project timelines.
Software Development
Hands-On Coding: Design, develop, and maintain feature-rich Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) and core business logic using C++, VC++, and Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC).
Debugging & Troubleshooting: Lead root-cause analysis and complex debugging efforts for software defects, utilizing tools like Visual Studio Debugger, WinDbg, and system profilers.
Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from concept, prototyping, and unit testing through to deployment and post-release support.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Experience: 8 to 9 years of professional software engineering experience, strictly focused on Windows desktop application development.
Programming Mastery: Deep, hands-on proficiency in C++ and VC++, with a strong command of modern C++ standards, STL, data structures, and algorithms.
Windows Frameworks: Extensive, verifiable experience developing applications using MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes) and the Windows API (Win32).
Architecture & Design: Proven ability to architect complex software systems from scratch and apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles effectively.
Leadership Track Record: Demonstrated experience acting as a Team Lead or Lead Architect, with a history of successfully delivering full-cycle technical projects.
Memory & Concurrency: Exceptional grasp of dynamic memory allocation, pointer manipulation, and multithreading/concurrency within a Windows environment.
Development Tools: Strong proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and familiarity with CI/CD integration.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience integrating or migrating legacy MFC applications with modern UI frameworks (e.g., Qt, WinUI, or WPF).
Knowledge of C# and .NET interoperability (C++/CLI).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and facilitating sprint planning activities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with non-technical stakeholders.
