Role Description The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of Starling’s CTV advertising platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing test cases, executing manual and automated tests, identifying and tracking defects, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to refine requirements and improve test coverage. The engineer will help integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, monitor test results, and contribute to quality metrics and reporting. This role also involves continuously optimizing test processes, tools, and standards to support rapid, high-quality releases in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Strong Quality Assurance and Software Testing skills, with experience defining test plans and quality standards.
Hands-on experience designing, documenting, and maintaining Test Cases for functional, regression, and integration testing.
Proficiency in Manual Testing techniques, including exploratory testing and validation across complex, distributed systems.
Practical experience with QA Automation, including building and maintaining automated test suites and frameworks.
Experience with test automation tools and languages (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST API testing, scripting in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git), integrating automated tests into build and deploy processes.
Knowledge of web technologies, APIs, microservices, and cloud-based architectures; CTV or ad tech experience is a plus.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and operations teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
