Faculty position in Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering Department at the “Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología – UTEC”, Lima, Peru, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in Mechanical Engineering.
We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in the following areas, but not limited to: (1) maintenance engineering & operations, (2) mechanical vibrations, (3) mechanical design, (4) computational mechanics, and (5) advanced manufacturing. Desired courses to be taught include Maintenance Engineering, Dynamics, Mechanical Vibrations, Mechanical Systems Design, Computational Mechanics, Advanced Manufacturing and other undergraduate or graduate courses related to the Mechanical Engineering curriculum.
Once hired, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, do research and obtain competitive external funding, establish an active cross-disciplinary research program, and contribute through service to the profession, the department, and UTEC. Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
Bachelor’s and/or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Demonstrated experience authoring and publishing scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with a diverse community of faculty, staff, and students.
Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Spanish is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
University-level teaching experience in Mechanical Engineering or related courses.
Experience supervising undergraduate and/or graduate theses, capstone projects, and research projects.
Experience preparing and submitting research grant proposals.
Demonstrated interest or experience in collaborating with academic institutions, industry partners, and/or community organizations.
