Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (TypeScript, Next.js, Fastify) - 6-Month Contract
Remote | Fixed term | Colombia
GP Strategies is seeking a Senior Full-Stack TypeScript Engineer with hands-on experience building join our remote team in Colombia.
In this role, you’ll work across multiple AI-driven products at different stages of maturity—shaping new applications, scaling existing systems, and delivering complex features end to end. You’ll operate in a small, agile environment with a high degree of ownership and technical influence.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. This fully remote role is based in Colombia and requires alignment with United States business hours (EST/CST). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern full-stack development and be passionate about building scalable, high-performance applications using TypeScript and cloud-native technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using modern TypeScript frameworks and tools.
Build and optimize front-end applications using Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
Develop robust backend services and APIs using Fastify and tRPC.
Design and manage relational databases using PostgreSQL.
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture discussions, and solution design workshops.
Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the full technology stack.
Create and maintain technical documentation and implementation guides.
Mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate effectively with distributed teams while working EST/CST hours.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong expertise in TypeScript across both front-end and back-end development.
Hands-on experience with:
Next.js
Fastify
tRPC
PostgreSQL
Tailwind CSS
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and modern web services.
Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and application scalability.
Experience with Git-based development workflows.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of modern authentication and authorization frameworks.
Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.
Previous experience in a Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or Senior Software Engineer role.
