About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Overview Of The Position
We are seeking an Electromagnetic Simulation Engineer to support the design and development of small electric motors for EV and drone applications. The role focuses on simulation-driven design, optimization, and validation of high-performance motors, working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced product development environment.
ROLE
Design, simulate, and optimize small electric motors (BLDC/PMSM/DC) using electromagnetic analysis tools, and support end-to-end motor development from concept to validation.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electromagnetic simulations for small electric motors (e.g., BLDC, PMSM, DC motors).
Develop and optimize motor designs for efficiency, torque density, thermal performance and cost.
Use simulation tools such as ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG, or Motor-CAD for modelling and analysis.
Analyze magnetic flux, losses (core, copper), torque ripple, back EMF and saturation effects.
Collaborate with mechanical, thermal and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility.
Support prototype development, testing, and validation of motor performance.
Compare simulation results with experimental data and refine models accordingly.
Document simulation processes, assumptions and results for internal use.
Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement in motor design methodologies.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics / Electrical Machines or a related field.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in electromagnetic simulation or electric motor design, preferably in EV, automotive, or drone applications.
DESIRED FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Hands-on experience with ANSYS Maxwell / JMAG / Motor-CAD.
Knowledge of BLDC / PMSM motor design principles and performance trade-offs.
Awareness of motor manufacturing processes.
Understanding of manufacturing constraints (magnets, windings, laminations).
Proactive approach and good communication skills.
