The Clinical Resources Manager will support clinical leaders to manage and assist the clinical staffing functions of the direct care services at the Home. The Clinical Resources Manager is expected to perform the duties of the position in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulations and the policies and procedures of S&R Nursing Homes Limited.
This position supports the management and administration of direct nursing services at the Home through managing human resources programs and financial programs. It involves: managing the costs associated with nursing care and staffing; examining and supporting the relationship between nursing services and quality resident care through programs such as onboarding and orientation, performance management, attendance management, health and safety and WSIB management, labour relations, and other programs; and addressing challenges in nursing service delivery within the broader context of policy, legislation, and the delivery of health services.
Key Responsibilities include the following and other duties as directed:
Clinical Operations Management:
• Oversee day-to-day nursing personnel concerns and labour relations activities for the clinical team, including recruitment, health and safety, collective agreements, union matters, employee relations, attendance management, culture management, progressive discipline, and employee file management.
• Coordinate and ensure the effectiveness of the home’s recruitment and onboarding policies and practices.
• Provide guidance to the department leaders in accordance with best practices, S&R policies, standards, and relevant legislation.
• Maintain the integrity of team member investigations by coordinating on a timely manner to document and close them and provide advice to leaders based on best practices, S&R policies, and legislative requirements.
• Train the leaders and frontline from time to time and oversee attendance and disability management program to ensure compliance and consistency.
• Ensure all new clinical team members receive orientation in line with our policies.
• Communicate with department leaders to ensure that staffing levels meet resident needs, MLTC standards, and budgetary constraints.
• Promote and uphold the S&R's Code of Conduct and Conflict Resolution process.
• Ensuring strict adherence to the provisions outlined in the collective agreement.
Health and Safety
• Ensure your Home’s health and safety program meets or exceeds legislated requirements and the provisions of the applicable collective bargaining agreements.
• Establish health and safety performance objectives and priorities in conjunction with the JHSC.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Work with the corporate team to enhance the reputation and integrity of this Home and S&R Nursing Homes.
• Models the organization’s vision and values internally and with the external community, leading others in building commitment to the vision.
• Communicates key organizational issues and needs in a manner that is appropriate to the audience and builds long-term commitment.
• Builds teams that are founded on principles of openness and integrity.
• Exceptional leadership and management skills with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role.
• Demonstrable labour relations experience in a unionized environment.
• Strong administrative, interpersonal, leadership and management skills.
• Post-secondary education is an asset, preferably at the bachelor's level (in Human Resources, Business Management, or Health Care).
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) or equivalent.
• Prior experience with Long Term Care and /or Healthcare would be an asset.
