Role: VMware Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL – Remote
Pay Rate: $55/hr on W2
Contract
Schedule: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM EST, with some flexibility required
Job Summary
Seeking a VMware Engineer with strong Windows Server and VMware vSphere experience to support production infrastructure, troubleshoot complex issues, manage virtualization environments, and participate in critical incident and change management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments, including configuration, patching, lifecycle management, and troubleshooting.
Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, including VM provisioning, snapshots, cloning, vMotion, templates, and lifecycle management.
Manage server storage, file systems, services, certificates, and PKI-related activities.
Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity and proactively resolve issues.
Troubleshoot OS, virtualization, performance, boot, service, and event-log issues.
Participate in Manager on Duty (MOD) rotation as a primary escalation point for critical incidents.
Plan and implement production changes, assess risk/impact, and support maintenance and upgrades.
Lead small to medium infrastructure design projects and collaborate with infrastructure, application, and project teams.
Apply vendor best practices across Windows and VMware technologies.
Support performance tuning, capacity planning, high availability, and service excellence.
