Overview
World Business Lenders (WBL) provides short-term, real estate-backed commercial loans to small and medium-sized businesses across the United States.
This is a fully remote position for an analytical professional with strong critical-thinking, investigative, documentation, and communication skills.
About the Role
Within IDEA — Intelligence, Data, Engineering & Analytics — this hands-on role supports business users with reporting, analysis, and data questions under the Analytics & Decision Support function.
What Success Looks Like
Deliver accurate reports on time, resolve routine requests independently, and communicate findings and blockers clearly.
Typical Day-to-Day
Clarify and prioritize business data requests.
Prepare reports, investigate discrepancies, and explain findings.
Coordinate fixes, validate changes, and document resolutions.
Key Objectives for This Role (Quarterly Focus)
Learn WBL’s data and lending processes, take ownership of assigned reports, and improve recurring workflows.
What You'll Be Doing (Core Responsibilities)
Support business teams with reporting, data analysis, and day-to-day data requests.
Prepare and maintain recurring management reports, dashboards, KPIs, and other analytical outputs.
Perform ad hoc analysis to answer business questions and support operational and management decision-making.
Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting and data needs and translate them into clear analytical requirements.
Investigate data questions, discrepancies, and reporting issues and coordinate with the appropriate data or technology teams to resolve them.
Review data and reporting outputs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Support the development and documentation of enterprise KPIs, metric definitions, and reporting standards.
Help business users understand and effectively use available data, reports, and self-service analytical tools.
Identify opportunities to improve, simplify, and automate recurring reporting and analytical processes.
Assist with testing and validation of new reports, datasets, metrics, and analytical products.
Support other analytical projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, analytics, information systems, or a related field.
Required Experience
Python or similar analytical programming experience is required.
Experience working with SQL strongly preferred.
Experience with reporting, visualization, analytics, or business intelligence tools preferred.
AI-assisted analysis or coding experience is a plus
Technical Skills
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business questions into data-driven analysis.
Soft Skills
100% fluency in English, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Proactive approach, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Background / Industry Experience
Experience in lending or financial services, business-user support, and data reconciliation preferred.
