About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Audit Manager to join our Brisbane team, with a particular focus on supporting the continued growth of our PCAOB and US-listed client capability.
This role is suited to a Manager who has experience working on audits performed under PCAOB auditing standards and is looking to further develop that expertise while continuing to work across a broad portfolio of private, public and international clients. PCAOB exposure is a key requirement for this position.
BDO's Audit practice is a major player within the local marketplace, auditing many of Australia's leading public and private sector organisations across a diverse industry base.
Our thriving audit practice works with and provides services to some of the most exciting, established and emerging companies. You will have the opportunity to work in a high performing team on a diverse client base with exposure to challenging work across a cross section of industries, including participation in engagements performed in accordance with PCAOB auditing standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage, lead, and develop the Audit team to ensure successful completion and execution of assigned engagements across a range of complexity and scale
Service line management, including contribution to overall service line strategy and providing feedback and development to junior members of the team
Identify audit and engagement risks and contribute to the design of an appropriate audit approach for each assignment
Review working papers, audit queries, correspondence and reports prepared by the team to ensure compliance with audit plan, procedures, and appropriate quality of work
Lead and participate in technical audit and accounting matters
Liaise with clients and identify future opportunities
About You
Demonstrated external audit experience in a professional services firm
Experience and passion in leading and developing teams
CA/CPA qualification
Thorough understanding of all financial statement areas
Ability to identify potential risks of material misstatement and design audit tests to mitigate those risks
Experience in reviewing General Purpose accounts, including listed entities
Demonstrated experience working on audits performed under PCAOB auditing standards
Experience working with US-listed entities, issuer engagements, or multinational groups subject to PCAOB requirements
Ability to identify scope and solve problems
Exceptional attention to detail
Full and unrestricted working rights within Australia
