Workday FDM & Master Data Specialist Role OverviewResponsible for managing and maintaining the company’s financial master data within Workday FDM, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, governance, and alignment with business and accounting requirements.
Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain financial masters such as Cost Center, Company/Legal Entity, Account, Spend Category, Revenue Category, Worktags, and related FDM structures. Well versed with business and accounting concepts relevant to Workday Finance. Perform master data creation, modification, validation, and maintenance in accordance with defined governance processes. Understand downstream system/integration dependencies and assess the potential impact of master data changes. Support basic Workday configuration and troubleshoot data/configuration-related issues. Maintain data quality, documentation, and governance standards across financial master data. Work with Finance, Accounting, IT, and business teams to understand requirements and resolve master data issues. Use Excel effectively for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
Required Skills & Experience Relevant experience working with Workday ERP, preferably Workday Financials. Basic knowledge of Workday configuration. Good understanding of financial master data and fundamental accounting concepts.
Basic technical understanding of system integrations, data flows, and downstream dependencies. Strong Excel skills, including data manipulation, validation, lookups, and analysis. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
