Role Description
This is a remote, contract role for a Social Media and Video Creator and Community Specialist Intern. The intern will create short form video content for social platforms, including scripting, filming, editing, and adapting content for multiple channels. Daily tasks include designing motion graphics, repurposing product and brand content into engaging multimedia assets, and optimizing videos for mobile first viewing. The intern will help manage social media pages, respond to community comments and messages, and support campaigns that drive engagement and brand awareness. The role also involves collaborating with the marketing team, tracking basic performance metrics, and proposing content ideas aligned with product launches and community interests.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Video Production and Multimedia for creating engaging content across social platforms.
Candidates should possess skills in Video Editing and Video Post Production to refine footage, add sound, and optimize videos for different formats.
Candidates should possess skills in Motion Graphics to design simple animations, titles, and visual elements that enhance brand storytelling.
Basic understanding of social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, X, and Facebook, and current content trends.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with an online community.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with video and design tools such as CapCut, Canva, or similar is an advantage.
Interest in digital commerce, startups, and the African and European business ecosystem is beneficial.

Important Note
This role is task driven with flexible hours. You manage your own time as long as deliverables are met. We are looking for people who are committed, eager to learn, and ready to experience what it truly means to build in a startup environment. Experience is welcome but not required. What matters most is your willingness to show up, take ownership, and follow through. If you know you cannot commit to the tasks and the learning process, this role is not for you.
