Job Description: Application Architect
Location: Pune, India
Experience: 10–12 Years
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Architect with a strong background in full stack development (Java Spring and React.js) and Azure cloud architecture, to design, build, and lead the delivery of scalable, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate combines solid hands-on development experience with deep architectural expertise on Microsoft Azure, and is equally comfortable driving high-level design decisions and getting into the code when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end architecture for applications from front-end UI to back-end services to cloud infrastructure
Define and lead the Azure architecture strategy: App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure SQL/Cosmos DB, API Management, Azure Storage, Service Bus/Event Grid
Guide and review full stack development work, with back-end on Java Spring Boot / Spring Framework and front-end on React.js
Architect RESTful APIs / microservices using Java Spring Boot
Own CI/CD pipeline architecture using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
Define security architecture (Azure AD/Entra ID, Key Vault, RBAC, networking/VNet design)
Drive technical decisions on system design, scalability, and cloud cost optimization
Partner with product managers, engineering leads, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical architecture
Mentor developers and architects; lead code and design reviews
Define application performance, monitoring, and observability standards (Azure Monitor, App Insights)
Required Skills & Experience
10–12 years of overall software development experience, with a strong background in Java Spring Boot / Spring Framework and React.js
Proven experience as an Azure Architect or Solution Architect — minimum 4–5 years in an architecture capacity
Strong background in backend development: Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Microservices and RESTful API design
Strong database background: SQL Server / Azure SQL, and exposure to NoSQL (Cosmos DB), or Oracle/PostgreSQL
Deep knowledge of Azure services: App Services, AKS, Functions, API Management, Storage, Service Bus, Key Vault, Azure AD/Entra ID
Experience architecting microservices and containerized solutions (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS)
Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform)
Solid grasp of application security, scalability, and performance optimization principles
Excellent communication skills able to engage both technical teams and business stakeholders
Good to Have
Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate)
Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
Exposure to TypeScript, GraphQL, or Next.js
Prior experience in a client-facing or consulting environment
Education
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
