Shift Supervisor - Design Operations #4

Binated is looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor – Design Operations to join our team in Pune.
We are specifically looking for someone with a professional background in graphic design/design operations who has progressed into a team-handling or supervisory role.
The ideal candidate should understand creative/design workflows while also being capable of managing people, allocating work, monitoring productivity and quality, and ensuring timely delivery.
This role is suitable for an experienced Graphic Designer, Senior Designer, Design Team Lead, Creative Team Lead, or Design Supervisor who has hands-on design experience along with team-handling responsibilities.

Shift: Night Shift / Rotational Shift
Working Days: 5 days per week
Key Responsibilities
Design & Production Operations
Manage and supervise the day-to-day workflow of the design/production team during the assigned shift.
Understand design requirements and ensure work is assigned to team members based on their skills, workload, and priorities.
Take ownership of all assigned orders/projects and ensure completion within defined turnaround times and SLAs.
Monitor live production queues and prioritize urgent or high-value assignments.
Ensure design briefs, customer specifications, brand guidelines, and production requirements are correctly understood and followed.
Identify bottlenecks in the design workflow and take immediate corrective action.
Escalate high-priority or at-risk orders before they become overdue.
Team Leadership & Supervision
Lead and supervise a team of designers/production associates during the assigned shift.
Allocate work effectively based on individual skills, capacity, and business priorities.
Monitor team productivity, attendance, quality, and overall performance.
Provide guidance and support to designers when they face design or production-related challenges.
Coach team members to improve quality, productivity, accuracy, and turnaround time.
Conduct effective shift handovers and communicate pending work, priorities, and escalations.
Maintain discipline and ensure adequate staffing throughout the shift.
Quality & Design Standards
Review design output to ensure it meets required quality standards before completion/delivery.
Ensure adherence to design guidelines, customer specifications, SOPs, and internal quality standards.
Identify recurring quality issues and work with the team to reduce errors and rework.
Provide constructive feedback to designers to improve overall output quality.
Operational Excellence
Monitor workflow and productivity throughout the shift.
Coordinate with Quality, Customer Service, and Operations teams to resolve production issues.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, turnaround times, and team efficiency.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and company policies.
Take ownership of operational issues occurring during the assigned shift.
Reporting
Prepare and maintain end-of-shift reports covering:
Orders/tasks received and completed
Pending work and reasons for delays
SLA performance
Individual and team productivity
Quality and rework issues
Attendance and staffing
System or resource concerns
Major escalations and corrective actions
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Order/task clearance rate
SLA compliance
On-time delivery
Team productivity
Design quality and accuracy
Rework/error rate
Pending order percentage
Escalation response time
Team attendance and shift discipline
Required Experience & Skills
2–5 years of overall professional experience, preferably within graphic design, creative production, or design operations.
Hands-on experience working as a Graphic Designer, Senior Designer, Creative Designer, or in a similar design-related role.
Minimum 1 year of team-handling, team-lead, supervisory, or people-management experience preferred.
Strong understanding of design workflows and creative production processes.
Ability to review design work and identify quality or execution issues.
Strong leadership and people-management skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production/workflow management systems is preferred.

Candidates with only general operations or customer-service supervisory experience without a design/creative background may not be suitable for this position.
