Role Description The Vice President Enterprise Architecture is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for defining and driving Airwallex’s enterprise-wide technology architecture strategy. This role oversees the design of scalable application and data architectures that support next-generation network services and global connectivity products. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading architecture governance forums, aligning technology roadmaps with business strategy, and guiding cross-functional engineering teams in implementing enterprise and application architecture standards. The role involves evaluating emerging technologies, ensuring architectural compliance and security, and collaborating closely with product, operations, and infrastructure leaders to optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. The Vice President Enterprise Architecture will also mentor architecture and development teams, establish best practices, and champion a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
Strong enterprise-level design skills, including Enterprise Architecture and Architecture across complex, distributed environments.
Experience in Application Architecture and Software Development to guide end-to-end solution design and implementation.
Proficiency in Data Modeling to support high-volume, real-time data flows, analytics, and integration across systems.
Demonstrated leadership in setting architecture standards, governance frameworks, and technology roadmaps.
Background in telecommunications, cloud networking, or large-scale digital platforms is highly beneficial.
Ability to collaborate effectively with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a remote, global setting.
Track record of delivering secure, resilient, and scalable architectures using modern cloud-native and microservices approaches.
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
