HSE programs will be well implemented and meet the relevant standards and regulations in the Plant. That means you will ensure that facilities provided are well maintained, regulation/procedure are in place and implemented, hazards/aspects assessments are conducted, the accident both caused by unsafe acts and conditions are reduced and energy and waste are driven down.
How You Will Contribute
You will:
Assist and lead the cultural transformation regarding HSE to help lead plant to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents
Be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes
Participate in investigations to facilitate closure of identified non-conformances
Provide Health and Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities
Follow up on non-conformances and develops the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis
Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system, assist with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillar team/safety committee and drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence
Develop technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards`

Experience in Environmental Health and Safety
Must have completed Environmental Health and Safety training in areas such as OSHA, EPA, DNREC
Experience in safety, and/or environmental technical standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels
Understanding and knowledge of regulatory reports and compliances including experience with ISO

What you need to know about this position:
EHS Management & Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain robust EHS management systems aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements (Factories Act, PESO, CPCB/SPCB, NBC, IS standards)
Track and ensure timely closure of all legal compliances and statutory reporting
Maintain and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and environmental permits
Risk Assessment & Incident Management:
Lead hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HAZOP and other relevant studies
Conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses; drive CAPA implementation
Develop and maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system
Implement Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs
Safety Programs & Training:
Design and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for employees and contractors (LOTO, confined space, work at height, hot work, electrical safety, machine safety, fire safety)
Conduct safety inductions for new joiners and visitors
Lead safety campaigns and awareness programs across the site
Machine & Process Safety:
Implement machine safety systems per ISO 12100 / ISO 13849 standards
Conduct machine risk assessments and ensure appropriate guarding and safety devices
Oversee safe commissioning of new equipment and processes
Auditing & Continuous Improvement:
Plan and conduct internal EHS audits; support external and corporate audits
Monitor and report EHS KPIs and KAIs; maintain safety dashboards and communication boards
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve Zero Harm culture
Benchmark LTIFR and other metrics; implement data-driven improvement programs
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and maintain Emergency Preparedness & Response Plans
Conduct regular mock drills (fire, chemical spill, evacuation); record findings and implement CAPA
Maintain fire safety systems (hydrants, extinguishers, smoke detectors, sprinklers)
Maintain safety equipment inventory
Environmental Management:
Monitor and manage environmental aspects – waste management, emissions, effluent compliance
Support sustainability initiatives and environmental reporting
Maintain site environmental programs and permits
Stakeholder Engagement:
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and corporate EHS teams
Lead monthly HSE meetings; share best practices and learnings
Provide HSE expertise for new projects and change management activities
Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors
What extra ingredients you will bring:
Strong knowledge of EHS management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001)
Proficiency in EHS digital tools (Enablon, Gensuite, SAP EHS or equivalent)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to influence at all levels
Leadership and team management capabilities
Contractor safety management experience
Knowledge of AI-based safety applications is a plus

Industry Preference: CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) or Food Industry experience preferred
Hands-on experience in managing HSE programs at manufacturing / R&D / pilot plant sites
Experience in greenfield / brownfield project commissioning is a plus
Education / Certifications:
Graduation: B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (primary preference) from a Tier 1 / Tier 2 institute with a high CGPA
Post-Graduation: M.Tech in Industrial Safety from UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies)
Certifications (Preferred)
ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (BSI / LRQA or equivalent)
ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
Certified Safety Professional (CSP®) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP®) from BCSP
NEBOSH IGC
Certified First Aider
Process Safety Management certification
