About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Role Summary:
Raise is built on this core philosophy — we will bring exceptionally great products, awesome user experience and best-in-class customer service to our users.
We started with our first consumer product, Dhan, an investment and trading platform launched in November 2021. Today, Dhan ranks #8 amongst stock brokers in India and continues to be one of the fastest-growing platforms in the investment and trading ecosystem.
In September 2026, Dhan was also recognised as Fintech Startup of the Year at the Global Fintech Festival, reflecting the innovation, product excellence and customer focus that continue to shape the platform. Backed by a passionate team of builders, believers, designers and problem-solvers, we are building a trusted ecosystem of financial products that empowers millions of users to make smarter financial decisions.
We are looking for a Senior Associate – HR Operations who will play a key role in building and running a smooth, efficient and employee-friendly HR operations function across Raise.
The role will have ownership across the employee lifecycle — from onboarding and employee data management to payroll, benefits, performance processes, transfers, exits and HR reporting. You will work closely with HR, Finance, Business leaders and employees to ensure that our people processes are accurate, timely, well-governed and easy to experience.
This is a high-ownership and detail-oriented role for someone who enjoys working with people, processes and data. Beyond managing day-to-day HR operations, the role will be expected to identify gaps, improve processes, strengthen controls and use HR technology to make the employee experience simpler and more efficient.
Expected Responsibilities:
Own and manage key employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee movements, transfers, confirmations, exits and documentation.
Drive monthly payroll processes end-to-end, including employee data validation, payroll inputs, exception checks, coordination with Finance/payroll partners and timely closure.
Ensure high levels of accuracy and integrity of employee master data across Keka HRMS and other HR systems.
Own and maintain employee records, HR trackers, organisation structures and documentation in line with internal processes and compliance requirements.
Manage leave, attendance and employee query resolution, ensuring timely closure and accurate records.
Own the background verification process, including coordination with vendors, tracking pending cases, resolving exceptions and maintaining appropriate documentation.
Coordinate full and final settlements, exit documentation, employee clearances and other separation-related processes.
Support administration of employee benefits, including insurance, reimbursements, loans and other employee programs.
Partner with Finance and HR teams on compensation-related processes, including salary changes, incentives, payroll inputs and employee cost data.
Support annual and periodic performance and appraisal processes, including KRA updates, employee data, system workflows, communication and follow-ups.
Prepare and maintain regular HR MIS, dashboards and people reports, ensuring data accuracy and actionable visibility for the HR team and business leaders.
Support compensation benchmarking and people analytics by gathering market data, preparing comparisons and maintaining relevant databases and trackers.
Support internal and external HR audits, ensuring employee records, reports, policies and documentation are complete and audit-ready.
Identify opportunities to simplify and automate HR processes and improve HRMS workflows, controls and employee experience.
Work closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Admin, managers and employees to ensure seamless execution of people processes.
Act as a reliable point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies, processes, documentation and operational queries.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure appropriate handling of employee and compensation-related information.
Contribute to building scalable HR processes as Raise continues to grow across businesses and teams.
Expected Skills:
5 to 6 years of experience in HR Operations, HR Generalist or People Operations roles, preferably in a fast-paced organisation.
MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources or a related field.
Strong understanding of employee lifecycle management, payroll, HRMS, benefits, HR documentation and HR processes.
Hands-on experience in managing or coordinating monthly payroll processes and working closely with Finance/payroll partners.
Experience with Keka or similar HRMS platforms is preferred.
Strong Excel / Google Sheets and data management skills, with the ability to work comfortably with large employee datasets.
Good understanding of HR MIS, reporting and basic people analytics.
Experience in handling HR audits, compliance documentation and process governance.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and process discipline.
Strong ownership and follow-through, with the ability to independently drive activities to closure.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, managers and cross-functional teams.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with maturity and discretion.
Strong problem-solving mindset with an interest in process improvement, automation and HR technology.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with multiple priorities.
We are a start-up organization focused on fast growth with quality products; hence, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment goes without saying!
