JOB SUMMARY
Pyyne is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in Python to work remotely from Brazil or Argentina on a custom AI intelligence tool for a US-based client. This is a high-impact role for Pyyne as we find new ways to engineer thoughtful, AI-powered solutions.
A successful candidate in this role will work alongside a senior engineer, take ownership of well-scoped work with some autonomy, and keep the client regularly informed by shipping small, visible increments and communicating proactively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain, and improve Python features and services for a custom AI intelligence solution.
- Collaborate day to day with a senior engineer who built his solution, with their guidance on architecture and technical direction.
- Ship small, well-tested changes on a regular cadence and make progress visible to the team and the client.
- Take part in frequent syncs and proactively share status updates, risks, and blockers.
- Adapt quickly as client priorities change.
- Support the LLM and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) components of the solution as the work requires.
Must Have Skills:
- 2+ years of professional experience with Python.
- Hands-on experience with async Python (asyncio) and building REST APIs (FastAPI or similar).
- Solid SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (e.g., SQLAlchemy), including schema migrations.
- Experience writing automated tests (pytest).
- Comfortable with Git.
- Ability to work independently on well-scoped tasks and ask for help when needed.
- Clear, proactive communication and a delivery mindset: you ship small things regularly and make progress visible.
- Highly fluent English, written and spoken.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with LLMs and RAG (embeddings, vector search, reranking, prompt design), including from personal projects.
- Familiarity with pgvector or other vector databases.
- Comfortable with Docker and deploying to a cloud provider (AWS preferred).
- Experience with message queues and background workers (e.g., SQS).
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform).
