BGC Okanagan is hiring part-time School Aged Child Care Workers for our club in Lake Country, BC. Join our team, where every day brings a new adventure. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.
Oversees the day-to-day operation of the program by ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards and licensing requirements are met.
Makes recommendations to the supervisor regarding program development, policy and procedure formulation, and program evaluation.
Promotes public awareness of and support for the program by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events.
Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals to the program, and represent the organization or program in external events.
Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
Maintains compliance with Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, WorkSafeBC (WSBC) standards, Community Care and Licensing Regulations, Risk Management requirements, and general health and safety standards. Acts as point person for licensing inspections. Identifies and reports any safety, compliance, or risk concerns in accordance with Agency procedures.
Qualifications:
First Aid Certification.
Grade 12 diploma
Completion of a course or a combination of courses of at least 20 hours duration which include child development, guidance, health and safety or nutrition (licensed programs)
Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check
Must be at least 19 years of age as per Provincial Licensing Regulations
Additional Information:
This position is open to all applicants
This position requires union membership
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 2pm to 6pm
Rate of Pay: $25.55 per hour
