About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Company Description Edvanz is a MENA-based software studio that designs and builds digital products for businesses across Egypt, the Gulf, and the wider region. The team partners with founders and companies to deliver software that solves concrete operational challenges rather than chasing trends. Its work covers web development, mobile applications for iOS and Android, SaaS and end-to-end product development, and automation and AI agents integrated into existing tools. Edvanz’s flagship product, Edvanz Tutor, is an ERP/SaaS platform dedicated to private tutors in Egypt and the MENA region. The company applies the same product mindset to client work as it does to its own platforms, emphasizing performance, maintainability, and real-world impact.
Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Java Software Engineer. The Java Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs that power web and mobile products across Edvanz’s service lines. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable Java code, implementing features using Spring Framework, contributing to microservices architectures, and optimizing performance and scalability. The role involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers, participating in code reviews, and adhering to secure coding practices. The engineer will also help troubleshoot production issues, refine technical documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or working on SaaS products is beneficial.
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred, but candidates with strong portfolios or demonstrable skills are encouraged to apply.
