We are seeking a hands-on AI Engineer Contractor to design, prototype, build, deploy, and support AI-powered enterprise solutions that improve business outcomes and engineering productivity. This role spans the full solution lifecycle—from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and operational support—with Generative AI capabilities applied where they provide measurable value.
Roles And Responsibilities
Design and develop Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, intelligent agents, and enterprise data.
Integrate AI models and platforms with APIs, business applications, data sources, and enterprise knowledge systems.
Transform promising prototypes into scalable, reliable, and production-ready solutions.
Apply security, evaluation, observability, governance, and Responsible AI practices throughout the solution lifecycle.
Collaborate with business, architecture, engineering, data, security, and platform teams.
Support CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production operations.
Use tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini Code Assist to accelerate delivery.
Required Qualifications
Enterprise application engineering experience across architecture, integration, testing, deployment, and production support.
Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, intelligent agents, or comparable Generative AI solutions.
Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Experience with cloud or AI platforms such as GCP, Vertex AI, Gemini, Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenAI.
Familiarity with APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, vector databases, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and monitoring.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $55-$60 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
