The role
Our customers include some of the largest banks in the US and Europe, and almost every contract arrives on their paper. Today leadership negotiates these with outside counsel.
You will be our first in-house lawyer and own all of it: customer contracts, vendor contracts, and employment agreements.
You are measured on two things: how fast our contracts get signed, and how well they protect the company.
What you'll do
● Own customer contracts end to end. NDAs, master agreements, order forms, SOWs and pilot agreements with banks, payment providers and fintechs. Redline, negotiate, and get them signed.
● Handle the bank exhibits. Data protection, information security, AI, insurance and service-level exhibits. Commit only to what we can deliver, and hold firm where it matters.
● Own vendor contracts. Software, cloud, data and service providers, contractors and consultants. Check every one for data protection, security, liability and renewal risk.
● Run employment and HR agreements in Lithuania. Employment contracts, amendments, confidentiality, IP assignment, non-compete and contractor agreements under the Labour Code. Keep work regulations and HR policies current, and advise managers on hiring and exits.
● Build our contract toolkit. Templates, a clause playbook, and one register of every signed agreement with its key terms and renewal dates. Automate the repetitive parts with AI tools.
● Keep privacy and corporate records in order. Partner with our Data Protection Officer on GDPR documents, and keep the Lithuanian entity's corporate decisions and powers of attorney current.
● Manage outside counsel. Decide what you close yourself and what goes out, scope the work, and control the cost.
What we're looking for
The bar (non-negotiable, every role):
● Extreme drive and passion for the work and the mission.
● Extreme ability to learn fast and operate with confidence in uncertainty.
● Extreme IQ and EQ. You raise the level of every room, and you lose an argument gracefully the moment someone's right.
For this role specifically:
● A law degree and four or more years in commercial contracts, at a law firm, in-house, or both.
● Hands-on B2B negotiation experience with technology, SaaS, data or services agreements.
● Working knowledge of Lithuanian employment law and the Labour Code.
● Practical GDPR experience.
● Professional fluency in English or Lithuanian, written and spoken.
● Sound judgment on risk. You can tell a deal-breaker from a point worth conceding, and explain the trade-off in plain language.
● Comfortable as the only lawyer in the room, setting priorities across leadership, sales, finance and engineering.
Strong plus: fluency in both English and Lithuanian; contracts with banks or other regulated financial institutions (outsourcing, third-party risk, DORA); US-style contract terms such as indemnities, liability caps and governing law; the EU AI Act or AML regulation; in-house experience at a startup or scale-up; hands-on use of AI tools for legal work.

What we offer
Competitive salary: €5,000–€7,000 gross per month under an employment contract, depending on experience and skills.
