Job Summary
The Data Analyst is a foundational member of AI2IO’s new Business Intelligence function, responsible for translating business needs into clear, validated requirements that shape the Company’s enterprise data warehouse and reporting environment. This role works directly with business stakeholders across finance, operations, and delivery to define KPIs, research and profile underlying source data, and ensure that what gets built actually reflects how the business works.
This role sits at the intersection of the business and the technical platform: the Data Analyst partners closely with the Director of Business Intelligence and the Senior Fabric Engineer, providing the detailed business definitions, data profiling, and validation needed to shape the enterprise data warehouse architecture correctly. The Data Analyst also owns the operational mechanics of BI delivery — creating and managing Azure DevOps stories, coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT), and maintaining release documentation — so the BI function can run on a predictable, well-governed cadence.
Ideal candidates have prior experience supporting an enterprise data warehouse or BI modernization effort and are looking to grow into broader data stewardship and analytics responsibilities as the function matures.
Essential Functions
Requirements & KPI Definition
Define Business Requirements: Work directly with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document reporting and analytics requirements
Support KPI Certification: Research and document metric definitions, formulas, business owners, and source systems as part of the KPI Governance Council’s certification process
Maintain the Business Glossary & KPI Dictionary: Keep shared definitions current and consistent as new metrics are certified or existing ones are revised
Data Research & Validation
Profile Source Data: Research and profile data across source systems (including Deltek Vantagepoint, SQL views, and Power BI semantic models) to understand how a reported number is actually calculated end-to-end
Validate Platform Design: Test and validate that new data warehouse structures and reports match agreed-upon business definitions before release
Flag Data Quality and Governance Issues: Identify inconsistencies, stale logic, or undocumented assumptions in existing reporting and raise them to the Director of Business Intelligence and the Governance Council
Delivery & Operations
Manage the Azure DevOps Backlog: Create and maintain well-defined user stories in Azure DevOps, supporting the BI team’s two-week sprint cadence and intake process
Coordinate UAT: Plan and coordinate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders for new reports, KPIs, and platform changes
Maintain Release Documentation: Author and maintain release notes and change management documentation so stakeholders always know what changed and why
Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget
Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned
Position Requirements
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear, testable requirements
Working knowledge of SQL sufficient to independently query and investigate source data across multiple systems
Familiarity with Power BI reports and semantic models; experience reading or writing DAX is a plus
Experience with Azure DevOps or a similar backlog/work-tracking tool
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and comfort with detailed, sometimes repetitive validation work
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple concurrent requests
Prior experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar professional services ERP systems is a plus
Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technology and adapting to evolving requirements
Travel / Relocation Requirements
Up to 5%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
Education / Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Finance, or related discipline
PLUS
4+ years of experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or reporting analyst role
Experience supporting an enterprise data warehouse, BI platform, or reporting modernization effort is strongly preferred
