Role Description The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is a full-time remote role responsible for leading FreeSWITCH’s investment strategy and capital allocation to support sustainable growth and long-term value creation. The CIO will design and implement investment policies, oversee portfolio construction, and manage liquidity in alignment with organizational goals and risk tolerance. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing market trends, evaluating investment opportunities, performing risk-return assessments, and preparing forecasts and scenario models to guide decision-making. The CIO will provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior leadership, collaborate with finance and operations teams, and maintain relationships with external advisors, institutions, and partners. This role also involves establishing governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, and continuously optimizing the investment portfolio as the company and ecosystem evolve.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Investment Strategies and Investments, with a track record of designing and executing effective investment approaches.
Proficiency in Investment Management and Portfolio Management, including asset allocation, diversification, and ongoing performance monitoring.
Solid foundation in Finance, with the ability to interpret financial statements, build models, and assess capital structure implications.
Demonstrated experience in senior-level financial leadership, ideally as a CIO, portfolio manager, or similar strategic investment role.
Advanced analytical skills, including quantitative analysis, risk management, and scenario planning.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex investment concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, globally distributed environment, with strong self-management and collaborative skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA) are an advantage.
Familiarity with technology or telecommunications sectors and open source ecosystems is beneficial.
