Background check, US Citizenship, and a CAC are requirements of this position.
Provide Item Management Support to ensure equipment is available to ensure patrol boats operations are not interupted.
Maintain stock levels of Coast Guard peculiar items to achieve effective service wide supply support and efficient utilization of appropriated funds. Establish and procure new items in the supply system when required. Make long range (e.g. 5 years) forecasts of requirements.
Responsible for items which are Coast Guard mission essential and involve a variety of Federal Supply Groups and classes. Manage stock levels by projecting stock/store/issue/repair quantities required on both a short term and long-term basis using a variety of techniques and other considerations. Ensure Short-term items are studied, analyzed, reviewed, managed, repaired or procured through utilization of various computer-generated reports and other factors.
Mange Long-term items utilizing provisioning requirements, project programming, long-range requirements, new construction programs, operational requirements, extended deployments, and other unanticipated requirements by Coast Guard field units.
Manage restricted items based on critically, usage, and other factors.
Develop procurement plans which consider various procurement factors, including total repair/procurement lead times, which may be up to 24 months and vary from one procurement to the next. Use historical data and past performance of each vendor as required to select the best supplier. Comply with procurement requirements/regulations, including the submission of required statements.
Initiate disposal action for Coast Guard peculiar material when the equipment has reached its support expiration date. Review excess property lists from Coast Guard units and other government agencies for possible utilization of assets. Initiate the processing of the material return program to and from other government agencies for the purpose of interagency logistics utilization. Ensure that excess property documents are processed and material is transferred to DRMO.
Serve as the focal point for the coordination of material support including reviewing, assigning and resolving Quality Deficiency Reports (QDR) and Supply Deficiency Reports (SDR).
Monitor the status of funds to stay within authorized funding levels. Analyze requirements and prepare estimates of funds needed. Provide data for use in the budget justification process.

Stationary Posture: Ability to remain seated or stand at a workstation for 50% to 100% of a shift.
Repetitive Motion: Continuous, low-force movement of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate a keyboard, mouse, and phone.
Visual Acuity: Close-range vision to read documents and view computer monitors for extended periods.
Occasional Lifting: Capability to lift, carry, or move lightweight items up to 10 pounds, such as files, laptops, or office supplies.
Mobility: Ability to walk short distances inside the office to reach printers, break rooms, or meeting spaces.
Education/Certification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
At least four (4) years?of recent, relevant experience as an Item Manager with the USCG SFLC.
Proficient with SFLC computer applications (e.g., NESSS, NE-TIMS, FED LOG) and other tools necessary to perform item management.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook, as well as other software/tools provided on the Coast Guard Standard Workstation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
