Role Description The AI/ML Engineer will work full time on-site at IIT Patna, located in Patna, India. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing machine learning and deep learning models for research projects and applied problems in engineering and science. Daily tasks include collecting and preprocessing data, experimenting with algorithms, training and evaluating models, and performing model deployment or integration with existing systems as needed. The AI/ML Engineer will collaborate with faculty, research scholars, and students to translate project requirements into technical solutions, document methodologies and results, and contribute to publications or technical reports. The role also includes maintaining code repositories, ensuring reproducible experiments, and staying current with advances in AI/ML tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science and Algorithms, with the ability to design efficient, scalable solutions.
Applied expertise in Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition for building and refining AI/ML models.
Solid understanding of Statistics, including probabilistic modeling, hypothesis testing, and data analysis.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML (such as Python) and relevant libraries or frameworks (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related field; exceptional bachelor’s degree holders with strong AI/ML experience may also be considered.
Experience with research-oriented work, including experimental design, result interpretation, and preparation of technical documentation or papers.
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
Background in high-performance computing, optimization techniques, or domain-specific applications (e.g., engineering systems, scientific computing) is an advantage.
