Role Description The Oracle Database Administrator role at WIPRO Technologies is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases, including monitoring performance, managing capacity, and ensuring high availability. The Oracle Database Administrator will handle backup and recovery operations, implement and manage replication strategies, and troubleshoot database-related issues to minimize downtime. Responsibilities also include enforcing database security standards, managing user access and roles, applying patches and upgrades, and collaborating with application and infrastructure teams to support project requirements. The role requires maintaining documentation, following established IT policies, and supporting continuous improvement of database operations.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Oracle Database Administration and general Database Administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
Experience with Replication and high-availability solutions, such as data replication strategies, clustering, or disaster recovery setups.
Proficiency in Troubleshooting database issues, root-cause analysis, and resolving performance or connectivity problems.
Knowledge of Database Security, including user and role management, access controls, encryption, and compliance with security policies.
Hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting for automation (e.g., Shell, Python, or PowerShell).
Familiarity with Linux/UNIX operating systems and basic system administration for database environments.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Relevant certifications (such as Oracle Certified Professional) are an advantage.
